AM:

5.8+FSW. Perfect combo - planing straight off the beach through the sh*tty gusty inside pretty much every time. I had a look at the harbour wall early on but the waves were rubbish so I came straight back and enjoyed a solid couple of hours of grooveriding in the south bay. The evil-tack recalibration is coming along nicely. Lots of duck-gybe practice in preparation for the afternoon photo-shoot...

PM:

5.2+FSW. Possibly the most ridiculous and hilarious wsfing session ever. During the windless start to the hol we went a tad crazy and decided that a few photos of us duck-gybing wearing only a pair of speedos would have to be taken as an ironic homage towards the large number of Germans who sail here. Today the plan was put into action. Absolute comedy and phenomally embarrassing both at the same time. So many funny looks from people on the beach. 5 minutes on the water was more than enough - I'm never doing that again. But I got the money shot...

I then hastily re-clothed and took a trip back to the harbour wall. Much better than this morning. As the tide receded the waves increased in size to the head-high range, a mushy short period cross-on windswell of course, but I scored a few nice turns. As always it takes some time to familiarise with a new break and previously I'd never had a decent session there but today I was really starting to get tuned in to the place. Sailed until 8pm!!!
